Luis R. Guzman is an attorney in the Litigation Practice Group. His practice area focuses on business, commercial, contracts, insurance, premises liability, real estate, land use, probate, intellectual property, education, property damage, federal civil rights, employment discrimination, government procurement, eminent domain, criminal, and unfair/deceptive business practices.
Darren K. McCartney, ESQ.
Darren K. McCartney represents clients in commercial litigation, including breach of contract and complex business disputes. Darren’s experience includes manufacturer-dealer relationships, sales agreements, leases, real estate transactions, construction disputes, health care, and consumer service contracts. Darren’s practice focuses on defending consumer litigation claims.
Brian Walker, ESQ.
Brian Walker is a litigator whose practice focuses on real estate, construction, and commercial disputes. He has extensive experience handling a broad range of construction-related matters, including multimillion-dollar contract and change order claims, multiparty contractor litigation, and regulatory matters involving OSHA and FDOT. His practice also includes construction-related home purchase disputes and day-to-day corporate representation.
Vanessa Meyers
As manager of the Client Care and Communication department, Vanessa handles reception, intake, and client relations. She enjoys meeting and helping Cornerstone Law Firm clients — especially those facing landlord, code enforcement and mortgage issues — and strives to make them feel at home in our offices.
A true Florida gal, Vanessa loves taking her Jeep to the beach and exploring and adventuring around the state with her two kids. She is also an animal lover and gardener.
Jennifer Grimmer
Jennifer is originally from Pennsylvania and has lived in Florida for 13 years. She has been in the legal field as a paralegal for 10 years.
She now lives here in Orlando with her two teenagers. When she is not working at Cornerstone Law Firm she enjoys watching her son play baseball and her daughter cheer. She also loves to read, garden and relax on the beach.
Rebecca
Rebecca is a nationally Certified Paralegal and Florida Registered Paralegal and has been practicing in Florida for 25 years. Rebecca earned her degree from the University of Utah and also holds a degree in Paralegal Studies from Phillips College.
Born in Chicago, Rebecca was educated in Salt Lake City, Utah and made Florida her home in 1998, where she currently resides with her Husband, two cats and two dogs.
Amber Johnsons
A Certified Paralegal and Licensed Title Agent with nearly 15 years of legal experience, Amber has prosecuted and defended real estate-related cases, including HOA, condo, bankruptcy, and foreclosure matters. Since 2017, she has focused on title and real estate closings, with extensive experience resolving complex title defects and structured closings.
A California native, Amber enjoys spending time with her husband, twin sons, and her beloved dogs. She loves the beach, but still argues the West Coast is the best coast. Stop in our Volusia County or Winter Springs office and say hello!
Christy Epley
Christy is an experienced Paralegal, where she focuses on litigation matters and assists in managing complex cases, organizing documentation, and supporting clients throughout the legal process.
With over 25 years of experience, Christy has worked at several firms in the Boston and Orlando areas, building a strong background in litigation. She earned her degree in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida.
Originally from Washington, D.C., Christy grew up in Winter Springs, Florida. Outside of the office, she is married with two daughters and enjoys staying involved in their activities, as well as spending time with family and going to the beach.
Wesley Haslam
Wesley is a Legal Assistant, where he supports the firm’s daily operations and assists with client communication to ensure matters move efficiently through the legal process. He plays a key role in managing the ins and outs of the office, helping keep cases organized and clients informed throughout their experience.
With over two years of experience at the firm, Wesley has developed a strong understanding of internal workflow and takes pride in helping ensure clients receive timely updates and reliable support.
Outside of the office, Wesley enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, playing video games, and reading books by Brandon Sanderson.
Leah Marquez
Leah is a Paralegal, where she focuses on transactional matters including estate planning and business law. She assists in the preparation and organization of legal documents, helping ensure clients’ personal and business affairs are structured efficiently.
With over 10 years of experience in the legal field, Leah brings a strong background in both legal and business principles. She holds an associate’s degree in paralegal studies and a bachelor’s degree in business management.
Originally from Illinois, Leah relocated to Florida in 2019. Outside of the office, she is married with two children and enjoys spending time with her family.
Keri Wimbergers
Keri is a Paralegal, where she focuses on real estate closings and transactional matters. She assists in managing the closing process and helps ensure transactions are handled efficiently from start to finish.
With over 15 years of experience, Keri has built a strong background in closings and client support. Originally from Miami, she grew up in Orlando.
Outside of the office, Keri enjoys spending time with her family and can often be found at the beach or working in her garden.
Erica Barker
Erica Barker is an experienced paralegal with over a decade of professional expertise supporting legal teams across a range of matters. Prior to entering the legal field, Erica built a strong foundation in both the medical and aviation industries, bringing a unique perspective, attention to detail, and disciplined approach to her work.
She is particularly passionate about legal research and takes pride in delivering thorough, accurate, and efficient support to attorneys and clients alike. Erica’s diverse background enhances her ability to analyze complex issues and contribute meaningfully to case strategy.
Outside of the office, Erica enjoys life in sunny San Diego with her three dogs. She spends her free time at the beach, traveling, and making memories with friends and family.

Brooke is an Administrative and Legal Assistant, where she assists with client communications, daily office operations, and invoicing. She brings over two years of experience with the firm, along with prior experience working at the Clerk’s Office. She enjoys speaking with clients and takes pride in ensuring they feel supported and well cared for throughout their time with the firm.
Originally from Kentucky, Brooke grew up in Winter Springs and Chuluota, Florida. Outside of work, Brooke enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, especially being outdoors on the lake or riding four-wheelers or reading a good book.

With over two decades of experience, she has developed a strong foundation across multiple industries, including medical, construction, and hospitality, and continues to expand her knowledge in her role with the firm.
A lifelong Orlando native, Stacy brings a strong local connection and a dedicated work ethic to the team. She finds it especially rewarding to know her work supports the attorneys, allowing them to focus on serving their clients.
Outside of the office, Stacy enjoys spending time with her daughter, being outdoors, and anything on the water. She also enjoys listening to live music, and you can often find her at the beach or exploring one of Florida’s local springs.
Kayla
Kayla is an Intake Specialist and Receptionist, where she serves as the first point of contact for clients and assists with intake and front office operations. She helps guide clients through the initial process and ensures they are directed to the appropriate support.
With a background as an Early Childhood Educator, Kayla brings strong communication skills and a friendly, client-focused approach to her role. She is originally from Johnson City, Tennessee and now resides in Winter Springs.
Outside of the office, Kayla enjoys spending time with her twins, creating crafts together and watching football.
